Hi, I’m Joy — a self-taught landscape photographer based in the Lake District, UK.

Surrounded by the mountains, lakes, and raw beauty of Cumbria, I use photography to connect deeply with nature and capture its ever-changing moods. My journey began in childhood, but in 2019 I fully committed to landscape photography as a creative and emotional outlet.

The Lake District is more than just home — it's my greatest inspiration. From the calm reflections of Ullswater to the misty shores of Derwentwater and the dramatic light over the fells, I aim to capture moments that evoke peace, awe, and presence. My style blends simplicity with emotion, often using long exposures, natural light, and Kase filters to reveal the atmosphere of each scene.

In addition to the Lake District, I photograph the wild beauty of Scotland and the Highlands, always seeking untamed places that stir the soul. I believe powerful images are everywhere — often just around the corner — if we slow down and really look.

In the past, I’ve also created spaces for women photographers to connect and share their work. These experiences shaped how i see community in photography, but today my focus is fully on my own creative path.

With my two miniature dachshunds by my side and just one camera, one lens, and my trusty filters, I’ve simplified my kit to reconnect with what I love most: capturing the essence of nature in its purest form.
